So in an effort to lose weight on my fat pig of a camping set up, I removed my muffler to weigh it. Not surprisingly it came in at 27 lbs. The noise level is surprisingly not bad with no muffler. I would consider running the stock muffler when not making long road trips to camp and wheel and running a muffler delete when going long distance to save weight. It looks like you could fit a resonator or small muffler in front of the axle and maybe find a happy medium. Can anyone explain the difference between a resonator and a muffler. Does a resonator quiet it down at all? Thanks

A resonator is designed to eliminate drone, typically at a particular rpm.

Regarding weight loss, I recently swapped full doors for half doors and would guess the half doors are 15 lbs lighter-each.
