So, Jeeptracker just sent me my window sticker. As I was reading it, I came across the warranties. 8 years 100k for the batteries and 8 years 100k limited for the hybrid system. I have a few questions to further educate myself.

for the batteries, I know normal car batteries are amortized based on the expected life. i.e. a car battery may have a 36 month warranty, but at month 35 they figure only 10% life of the battery is left and 90% of the battery life has been used. So that means that they will only give you 10% of your batteries value as warranty. Anyone had the unfortunate circumstance to know if the high voltage batteries are treated in the same manor?

Any idea what limited means for the hybrid system?

Nope there is no pro-rating/amortization of the Hybrid Battery - if it fails due to a factory defect in the time/mileage (ZEV states 10 yrs/150k, Non-ZEV states 8 yrs/100k)
then its completely covered.

...and I wouldn't worry too much about the use of the term "Limited" since it's an industry standard to put that in the name of every Factory Warranty (ex. Basic Limited, Powertrain Limited) because it's a legally binding document every car manufacturer throws that in there since technically the Warranty does include some "Limits" (Ex. Environmental damages, maintenance costs, some modifications, racing, certain types of corrosion, etc.)
