Warning Light

Not often, but this warning light has come on a few times. I would like to say it happened after using the remote start, but I'm not 100% sure. This is on a 2020 Rubi JLU, 2.0 with 8,000 miles. I will take to the dealer so they can run a diagnostic test, but before I do that, I wanted to see if any of you out there had the same issue.

That is the icon for the electronic start stop system system (ESS). It is the icon for something like “Check Start Stop System” or “Start Stop System Not Working” etc

Not a big fan of the auto/stop feature...I usually disengage the auto/start immediately after I get in the cab, but I noticed that it comes on after I remote start the engine.

Sure did. Mine was caused by bad aux battery & clutch switch. Multiple trips to the dealer as they pretended to fix it. 1) Just charging the batteries, not the answer; 2) replace aux battery, not the answer; 3) clutch switch & that did it. Lots of different things cause that warning to come on.

My light came on while I was doing some rock crawling in Colorado. I had been on the trail for a couple hours when it came on. At one point I shut the Jeep off and it never came back on. While getting something else done at the dealership I had them check it and they didn't find any codes. I don't think they tested the battery...that might be expecting too much.

The ESS system has it's own battery. If it runs low, you will get a warning light.

I got this last weekend at 5300 Miles (2020 JLUR with Pentastar and no eTorque). My software was updating. If it does not come again then chances are your software was updating and this happened in error. This was what happened in my case.

Should be nothing to worry. But if it comes again then your Aux Battery may need to be replaced.

If you dont have eTorque then you have a motorcycle sized battery under the big battery in the engine bay. It is a pain to get to. If you have the eTorque then you have a 48V battery under the back seat. In either case, have the dealer check it out.
