I ordered my new Sahara motijo with the retract top JL in June 2018 (2 week) and here it is almost October still waiting.
I was told that it would be shipped out the first of September so I wait . Get a call from my dealer in Tampa and I was informed that my Jeep hadn't been built along with four others. No word from Jeep before the ship date. The dealer said that they didn't even know the ordered was not filled until no shipping invoice on the train. The problem was Jeep said they were not going to build anymore 2018 even though this was ordered in June! Now they have decided to build the jeep a 2018 sometime in Oct.
So this is how Jeep treats its customers! Fantastic!!!

There is an issue with the retractable top. They aren't making or shipping them. They shouldn't have made them available for order but you can't change the past. Would you rather them send out a top that doesn't work properly or have them correct the issue prior?

It is a first year vehicle with a brand new power option for the first time. First year vehicles tend to have issues. You can either wait or cancel the order.

Hi Daniel, welcome to the forums! I can tell that you are a new poster. I would say that your waiting time is not unusual. If you checked other threads and posts you will see that Jeep builds/deliveries vary GREATLY. Some people waited only a few weeks from Build to delivery and some waited almost 6 months or more.

Various things cause it... I would say that at this point, @Carlton is spot on with his assessment. You can either cancel or wait for it. You could also contact your dealer and inquire, and do the same with JeepCares. But the answers you receive may not be comforting depending on the situation.

Hope this helps!

Like the others said above, certain options are driving delays, despite being available for order. Jeep hasn't done well with mapping "released" to "available." The power top is definitely in this category, very few have actually shipped.

At this point you've been so delayed that you may want to cancel and hold out for a 2019. Though the power top may still be an issue. By the same token, there won't be that much time to order Mojito!, if that's important to you. I just ordered last week for that reason.

Hi, this post is more about the lack of communication from jeep and not the top or the fact that I am a new poster. The top was released before my order that is why I waited that long before making the decision. So I am not looking for a excuse from jeep. I am letting people know that you should check to make sure it's getting built!
Thanks

Good luck.. And yes the mojito is important. I was told they will continue a few months after the first of the year and then stop that color .
Thanks

lol I understand...I'm not trying to make your post seem unimportant just because I mentioned that you are a new poster. I think you're taking my message in the wrong way.

I'm clearly saying that because it looks like you are new to posting that you may also be new to all of the issues that other Jeep owners have had with regards to the length of time it takes to receive an ordered Jeep. That is all. Take care!
