I am reasonably set on getting a Warn Zeon for my rubicon. When I studied the Warn product literature it appears that the dimensions of the 8, 10, 12 are the same and only slight difference in weight. I was planning to go with the 10 but for only $100 more can get the 12. Given the very little difference in price, is there any reason(s) that going with the 12 would be a bad idea?

I don't know if you're looking at rope or cable, but I know the synthetic rope on the 12k is 80' vs 100' on the 8 and 10.

I'm going 12k just for the extra pulling power, lots of mud in FL. :(

100' rope + snatch block + 10k winch ftw

IMHO

Not a bad idea, but as you only really need 8k, the 12k may be way overkill. Again, in my humble opinion.

I went with the Zeon 10-S. Should be more than plenty. Warn is currently offering a free action camera with the purchase of some of their winches. An $80 value.

If the $100 bones isn't much to you... I'd recommend the 12K winch. often they have a deal and its sometimes cheaper then the others because it doesn't sell as much.. and when it comes to winches better to have more then to have less!

Also, if you buy one from Northridge 4x4, you can get a free Warn light bar. I got the 10” one, which normally costs $349 on their site.
