Personally, my time off is extremely valuable to me, wasting it on travel was something I didn't want to do.

I bought mine in the waning days of COVID, but factory ordering mine was a great deal. Zero haggling too.

I'm incredibly stretched for time right now so a flight out and drive back would probably kill me. I did manage to get the $1000 jeep coupon, thanks Ratbert. Of note, prices on jeep rubicons at the dealerships around here have been dropping on a daily basis. I'll keep watching. I am starting to get replies from the dealerships I reached out to, we'll see how it goes.

Found a good local deal and will be picking it up this evening. MSRP $72,530 and got me the Joose out the door for $55,716.58. I think I did pretty good, the store manager called me and told me that this was $4,400 below invoice and he lost $1,900 on it. Take that for what its worth but I'm happy.

I thought CARB wouldn't allow residents to register cars without CA emissions.
Correct, but the vast majority are 50 State, with rare exceptions like the 22 392 the non CARB state dealers pushed buyers to order the “Additional California Emissions Equipment” ~$900 anyway. Saying they couldn’t be registered in one without. … A guy at work bought a used F350 diesel in Texas visiting relatives, Ca wouldn’t register it due to smog. He registered it in Texas at his relatives address. Next visit he sold it there.
Do verify 50 state before purchase if a CARB state resident.

I appreciate everyone's input and tips. The $1000 Jeep cash, "private offer", worked like a charm! I still can't believe they sold it at that price. It was a little over my budget but I couldn't pass up that many "free" upgrades.
