Vacuum pump replacement

Hi guys,
Wondering if anyone here has replaced the vacuum pump. Mine keeps shorting out the fuse so I ordered a new one to replace.

Just wondering if anyone has done it. Is it a simple task to remove it? What tools did u guys need?

I replaced mine about a year ago. It's pretty simple. Just take off the air intake tube and the pump is right there. There's 2 bolts that hold the pump in place. 10 or 13mm if I remember correctly.

Yup, super easy. Two bolts, a connector, and a hose.

They go bad frequently enough and end up blowing the fuse. Not super common but common enough to have seen it a few times.

when you say air intake tube you are referring to the tube from the air intake box to the throttle body not the air intake box itself? TIA

Just replaced it. Wasn't too bad but took me a little bit of time.

Time is ok. It's not a race for a DIY. Doing it right is more important. Enjoy your time under the hood and satisfaction of accomplishing something that makes you more self-sufficient.

It's right under the alternator, which requires you to remove the tube from the throttle body to the air filter box.
