I have the 8.4 radio and premium audio group (Alpine Premium audio system)
This is misleading because only the sub is Alpine that I'm aware of.
The Sub sounds fine to me, but when you use the fader from front to rear, it's the speakers by the roll bar that sound like s**t!
Has anyone just upgraded those speakers, and did it make a huge difference?
Or... is it the lack of power going to them that make them sound that way?

I have a 2019 Wrangler and a 23 Gladiator. I update the speakers years ago on the wrangler and it seemed to help a little. I have a friend who bought an aftermarket speaker bar that swings down and his rocked! I put a 10" sub in the back using the side boxes and that was my best install for the speakers. But I'm not a radio guy and I was keeping my radio/speakers on a budget because I wanted to spend cash on other items

I have terra acoustics up front and this is what I did with my roll bar speakers. I'm very happy with the sound of this set up.

I have seen the replacements for the roll bar speakers, that's what I'm thinking of replacing but wasn't sure if it will be noticeable, like I said, fade to the front and it sounds good (not great) but when fading to those roll bar speakers...🤮🤮

There's more to it than that. There's a 12 channel x 40-50 W amp with active crossovers. The 3.5s are almost full range (dash and one set in the bar) the 4s are mid-basses. Four channels go to the sub.

Most people pull the 3.5" signal to run new sound bar speakers. Realistically, you're actually loosing a full pair of amp channels (the two sound bar mid-basses). Like any vehicle though, swapping to more efficient speakers tends to make it louder.

You won't lose any channels if you use component speakers like dpike showed above. Get the Select Increments pods and there is no cutting of your speaker bar needed.

You mean trashing the xover and feeding the tweeter almost full range?

I'm not sure trashing is the right word, but yes.
Assuming the tweeters have an onboard passive high pass to protect them, I'd expect you'd end up with a huge hole in the mid range.

These are the grills I got. Another inmate posted them on their set up and I liked the look of them better than the fine mesh.

I wonder if there is a way to get the missing mid range to the mid bass speaker? Would it be possible to combine the two channels at the mid bass and then let the speaker crossover send the highs to to tweeter?

The mid-bass is bandpassed fairly low. Most just use the "full range" and abandon the mid-bass signal.

Running a seperate set of mid basses in a quad soundbar would be better, but you're getting close to spending significant money on diminishing returns.

I've installed JLJT pods in my soundbar and installed Infinity Reference components. Tweeters take the wires for the smaller speaker, 6.5" speakers get the 4" wires. I also upgraded the upper dash speakers with Infinity's which took 5 minutes per side to change out.

I need to take the time and put the stock screws back in cos those silver ones stand out and look crap.
