Uconnect texting notifications

I just got a 2020

Does anyone know how to turn off the Uconnect texting notifications but leave the phone call notifications on?

everything works to my preference when using Apple play. However when I’m just connected via Bluetooth the constant flow of texts drive me crazy.

I googled how to turn them off and my Jeep doesn’t seem to like the apparent way to do it.

I turned off the notifications on my phone itself but then the phone calls stopped coming through.

Any ideas?

Maybe unpair the phone and then reconnect, at original pairing it will ask for permission to access messages on the phone, at that point click on no.

This worked, however, I know can’t do anything with texting unless I have the phone plugged in to use car play.

I can live with this, but is there a way to just not have the vehicle audible notify me and still be able to listen to my notifications if I want?

Can you go in settings on your iPhone and notifications, and uncheck ‘Show in CarPlay’? Is that what you’re going for?

NOTE: I meant ‘Messages’ notifications;

I'm trying to figure out how to get an audible alert through carplay. I can see the banner, but if it doesn't catch my attention, I miss it. I just went to settings on the phone and don't see that as an option.

Car play works fine. When the phone is just connected via blue tooth is when I have an issue.

Before every time I got a text it would announce it but if I chose I could still go in and manually press the “reply” button and then say my reply out load and send it.

Now that I have the notifications turned off in my phone’s settings it doesn’t interrupt everything else going on constantly with alerts about new texts, but I can’t reply to a text using at the Uconnect System Art all (unless I’m using car play).

when I first started trying to fix the notifications I saw a thread that said I had to use the Uconnect system and tell it to not notify me of any texts but then I could still text using, just not completely hands free. I tried that method several times but it didn’t work.
