  1. Service Transmission: TCM codes

I had a friend with a code reader that went to an app. I don't know anything specific about it. I've been about 4k miles since. No, did not see a dealer.
  2. Service Transmission: TCM codes

Check in: 5 months later and it has never resurfaced. The only thing logical that changed was that it was the first time being over 10k foot elevation.
  3. Service Transmission: TCM codes

Update. Finally figured out how to disconnect BOTH batteries. Computer reset itself and cleared all codes. All is working!
  4. Service Transmission: TCM codes

Batteries weren’t low when it initially happened, but are low now, due to not being able to turn the vehicle off. Did not have good customer service with the first dealer. The second closest dealer is being more helpful.
  5. Service Transmission: TCM codes

It’s been a long journey. 3 years ago decided to get a Jeep for Colorado vacations. Finally bought one last fall. Have LOVED it! 6k troublefree miles. Yesterday, we finally arrived in Colorado with it. A dream coming true. As soon as we park in our campsite, It won’t go into park and I...
  6. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

I should have been more clear. I'm trying to keep the channel in chronological order and may not get to this particular one for several months. Sorry. Rereading my post, that was a little misleading. I may change my mind, as I'm dying to get to the Jeep chapter!!! Thanks for watching.
  7. What's the benefit of the LED lighting group?

I was "this" close to not ordering them. However, the first night that I used them, I knew immediately what all the fuss was about. My wife's comment during her first ride was, "it's like daytime out here!". We paid 8% below invoice. That means that the LED package was in the neighborhood...
  8. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Why are the most elegant solutions the most pricey??? Thanks for the link and the code.
  9. Buying a Rubi. What are your thoughts?

Can't haul a full size french door fridge with a 2-door! Well...maybe. :) We went 4-door for many reasons. Pseudo truck substitute is one of them.
  10. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Do you have a link to those mirrors? If there is a ball on the grab handle, I'm thinking the ball could double as a phone holder when not using the mirror?
  11. Stickers. Inside? Outside? What does it all mean?

I'm trying to decide my "philosophy" now. I have a few stickers built up and waiting. Here's where I am right now. No stickers on body paint. Badge of Honor on the outside window. All others on the inside of freedom panels. Stickers look like crap over the years and when removed from...
  12. Help Me Decide

I started my shopping in '18 and was clueless. I remember the salesman trying to convince me that the JK was the better buy (at nearly the same price). I'm really glad I'm a researcher. I took two years of education before I pulled the trigger.
  13. HELLA YELLA Wrangler JL Club

Hello Wayne. I went with a Ready Brute Elite tow bar and their integrated Ready Brake system. There are many reasons, which you may not fully understand until you research all of your options. In a nutshell, simplicity of a mechanical system, not having to remove and store a brake mechanism...
  14. Rockhard 4x4 Aluminum font bumper and steel rock slider install pic

Just installed the same bumper last weekend! It’s beautiful. Next up for me are 35’s, but I’ll wait to get the life out of these 33’s.
  15. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

I'm sure the list of pros and cons is equally long for most any option. We did 8k miles last year with the Ready Brute and no issues. Of course, the towed was only 2.5k pounds.
  16. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

There are several reasons I went this direction. 1. Simplicity and reliability of a mechanical system. Doesn't introduce more electronics, air compressor, etc. 2. Don't have to remove and store the Brake Buddy. 3. No drain on my battery (or need to wire a 12v charge from the motorhome) 4...
  17. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

First time on this thread. I've been wrenching quite a bit over the quarantine period. Plan is to flat tow behind our motorhome, so I needed a bumper I could tow from. Installed a Rockhard 4x4 aluminum bumper with tow brackets. Will be wheeling mostly solo, so I installed a Warn Evo VR 10S...
  18. Help Me Decide

JL is much more refined. The $9k difference will likely stay with the vehicle throughout your ownership. However, another consideration for our purchase was how long we plan to keep it. I genuinely expect this Jeep to be with me from here on out (20 years). Therefore, I went Rubicon, not...
  19. HELLA YELLA Wrangler JL Club

Some recent happenings with my HellaYella! Installed a Rockhard 4x4 aluminum bumper with Warn Evo 10s winch (filmed an install video that will be on YouTube). Installed tow bar brackets and test run behind motorhome. The dream is coming together!
  20. Best Setup for RV Flat Tow

Not great pictures, but hope they help. There are two holes. The one to the left is the breakaway cable. The silver one an inch to the right is for the braking cable. Nothing is tightened down or trimmed in this picture. I'm thinking the bracket is going to slide up the brake peddle arm by...
