Uconnect Question

Use the speech button on the steering wheel and you can say whatever you want.

You can't send nothing but predetermined text on mine. I have had a14 ram and now a 16 ram , and it works the way it should. You can speak your own text.

That's the way my Cherokee was. I hoping it changes. I'm going to try my other phone in case it's based on the cellphone.

Are there different versions? I admit I don’t know what you are talking about.
I know the Uconnect in the Jeep is different (water down) than in the rest of the FCA family, like it doesn’t have location services. But I thought messaging was based on the phone alone.

I'm not sure. I am planning on calling Uconnect support tomorrow and find out. I will post my findings.

I already have called them. You can't speak you're own text through uconnect. Spent 40 min on phone be bounced back and forth ,to find out you can't. Good luck.

I don’t have built in Nav. Just use CarPlay to pull the nav from my phone
