I have a 2024 392 and every time I get in the car it starts to auto play Audible. My phone is an iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I've searched the internet for all kinds of articles on how to turn off auto play on the phone's side and done all those things, so I'm pretty sure it's not my phone.

It seems to me that Uconnect is force playing Audible whenever I start the car. It will even do it when I've manually force quit Audible on my phone since last being in the car.

I've searched all over the Uconnect settings and can't seem to find anything about autoplay to turn it off. I've also checked Audible settings as well.

It will also do it with other apps, such as apple podcasts, Qobuz, Pandora, etc. It seems to hijack whatever I was last using.

Is there any way to turn this "feature" off?

So I'm pretty sure this is a general phone app problem because my Pandora does it too. It happens in every vehicle I drive if the phone autoconnects to the radio. I don't even have to have audible open on my phone and I swear it will start playing every time by itself. I'm on Android.

What I can't figure out is how the radio "recalls" songs on Pandora when the app is closed, it'll start playing whatever song was on when I shut it off last and just pick up where it left off like how the hell does that happen...Not just in my Jeep either.

WSPJeep:
On an android here, but I have setting to autoplay Audible, Spotify, whatever audio app in Android auto and/or Routines, not in uconnect. My Uconnect auto plays radio until my Android Auto wireless connects which drove me crazy, why the Uconnect didn't default to last played source, the phone not FM radio. I sort of fixed this by putting the Uconnect radio to an AM channel that had almost no white noise. That way Uconnect auto plays the AM radio, 1300 I think, until the phone connects, maybe 10-15 seconds.

As far as picking up where it left off my phone connects to multiple bluetooth speakers throughout the day:
Jeep, bathroom, garage, work. The phone always picks up where it left off so its in the app on the phone. I even have the phone set to use different apps to auto-play(jeep & bathroom auto play Audible, garage and work auto-play Spotify)(this is set in 'Routines' within Smasung settings)

Is this related to the setting, in the menus, about having the radio automatically play on start-up? I haven't turned that on, but this feels adjacent.

Like WSPJeep, I have not seen any auto-play setting in UConnect other than UConnect going back to last played that is available, if not available(phone) it goes to radio(AM or FM). The only auto-play setting I've found are in my phone(Android, Samsung). If my radio is left off at shut down it stays off until I turn it back on regardless of starts, if left on it stays on.
Or, another way to say it is UConnect left on will play radio until the phone connects, but once the phone connects its the phone that auto-plays last app or the app set to auto-play. I'm pretty sure the only auto-play UConnect will do is go back it the last source it was on that IT has, not an external source until/unless that external source takes over.
Don't know if what I'm trying to say makes sense..

My Pandora does this randomly. It seems to stay paused (sometimes) when I hit the pause button on the Jeep's screen before turning the engine off.

I have a Samsung Flip 4 (Android) phone.

The more I search for this the more it points me to the car is sending a play request to the iPhone and there is no way to stop it from doing that.

I have quite a few vehicles and some of them don't do this. It seems that it's a uconnect thing.

Absolutely ridiculous. I want to punch the person in the face that thought autoplay was a good idea in the first place. If I want to play something I'll fucking turn it on myself. How hard can it be for the uconnect programmers to add a setting to turn autoplay on or off? Apparently too much work.

Android Auto guy here. There is a switch in Android Auto to automatically play audio when you plug in the phone for AA use. Mine would start playing music as soon as it connected so I turned it off. You can also tell it which apps you want it to show/use/permissions etc.

Not sure about Apple stuff but this should most definitely be in your phone settings and not the U-connect. I'm sure they're a lot of Apple forums to search ;)

Yep, searched the internet plenty and turned off all the Apple settings. Maybe I've missing one still, but it seems that despite that Uconnect is still forcing the app to play.
