UConnect 8.4 woes

I recently picked up a new 2018 JL with the 8.4" screen. Build date is 10/30/18. When I picked up the Jeep the screen would reset every 3 minutes. Dealer attempted to update but couldn't fix the issue so a new radio was ordered. Now that I have the new radio, it locks up on a daily basis. It's fine when I first leave for the day but if I stop somewhere and then leave again the radio shows that it's downloading contacts and then locks up at the navigation screen. I'm able to use the navigation but none of the buttons below work. This happens every single day now and sometimes can be fixed when plugging into a phone for carplay. Uconnect website says I'm all up to date. Am I doing something wrong or am I due for another trip to the dealer?

Sadly, I have the newest version but it's still locking up and basically useless until it goes through a complete shut down cycle.

This is another reason why I am waiting for Alpine to release their JL replacement this fall vs upgrading my 7 to an 8.4. Good luck on getting Jeep to fix it.
