Hi guys, this is my first post.

I'm looking to order a Willys 2 dr this weekend and was wondering if anyone knows what the actual tires that come with it are. The order sheets list two codes as standard:

TWG LT285/70R17C BSW M/T TIRES
TXA LT285/70R17C BSW OFF-ROAD TIRES

I've looked at dealer web pages that state the code and have pictures. Both TWG and TXA look like BF Goodrich KO2's, which say "All-Terrain on the sidewalls, which is neither "M/T" nor "Off-Road". Does anyone know what the actual 2024 tire models are for the TWG and TXA codes?

Many thanks,
Larry

TWG M/T Tires are Falken Wildtrak MT

TXA Off Road Tires are believed to be BFG KO2 ATs

Jeep did a bait and switch on us - All Willys were advertised with 33" BFG KO2's. One of the reasons I ordered one in July 2023. The MTs were not even an option at that time, but low and behold my Willys shipped with the Falken MTs. Few other guys on here have experienced the same thing.

I ended up placing a 2nd Willys order once the SOT became available with Anvil and it looks like it too will come with the Falken MTs. Couple dealers on here said they can no longer order the BFG KO2's in the dealer configurator even though it's listed as a no cost option on the Jeep.com builder.

The good news is early reports indicate it's quiet for an MT. Time will tell how they hold up.

I'm assuming the move away from the BFG KO2 is because stock levels are declining to make way for the new KO3. I was counting on our on order Willys 2dr arriving with the KO2 but now assume we will get the MT. I've had positive experiences with both the KO2 and the Wildpeak AT3W, but have zero experience with the Wildpeak MT so on one hand, this is a chance to try it. Or, I will order a set of either the KO3 or the AT4W to swap and sell the MTs. Could be a chance to upsize to a 285/75 immediately, but there will be a cost. Decisions, decisions.

I made a few notes on weight (per tire rack, IIRC), so thought I would share:
In 285/70R17, the K02 is 51 lbs.
Falken M/T is 61.
The K03 is 56,
Falken AT4W is 67,
AT3W is 63.
Toyo ATIII is 54.

Radi: Thanks for your reply. My stomach flipped when I read it though. To order exactly what you want, wait however long, then get the tires you specifically avoided ordering. What a bummer. Hopefully the M/Ts will be quiet enough for you (us?).

sjl136: Interesting point. You have a sunny outlook. Maybe I'll get that after having a Jeep for a while!

MaybeRubi: So the MTs are 20% heavier...and all that rubber for free!

Sincere thanks,
Larry

I swapped my ko2s out for the falken mts. They're my favorite tire, quiet on the road and give that aggressive look that should be on the Willys
