Has anyone tried cutting the factory exhaust just past the the factory resonator and exhaust hanger? I’m currently using the Dynomax muffler delete. This seems like it would give the same tone but you lessen the amount of pipe that snakes over the axel. Almost like a rock basher exhaust using the factory resonator and pipe.

There was a video I saw where a guy on Youtube cut his back right around the rear axle and the drone was bad, but he has a JK. Not sure if it makes a difference.

And increase the likelihood for CO getting in the cab.

There’s always that likelihood but it wouldn’t be any different than installing a rock basher exhaust from AFE. The setup I’m talking about basically dumps before the rear axel on a JLU. There’s an exhaust hanger there. Cut it and weld in a turn down.

Per Kentucky law no changes can be made to the exhaust system that makes it louder than the original muffler. And I think it is federal law that passenger vehicles have to terminate at the far rear of a vehicle or out the side in a way that the exhaust can not enter the passenger compartment. If you were in California the law just changed requiring police to give a citation to loud exhaust instead of just a fix it ticket.

Lol. Guess you’re a lawyer. Make sure you site that to every person in here that mods their exhaust.

The word is cite. Most people on this forum break several vehicle laws.Tint percentage, windshield tint, number of aux lights, height of aux lights, no fenders, bumper height, tire size, light colors and exhaust but exhaust can be the most dangerous. Glad I don't need to worry about any of them since I know the secret police handshake.
