My salesperson sent me this reply after I asked if the Treadlightly 1% is stackable with the 5% below deal they already offered. If he's wrong, please arm me with some hard evidence that makes the stackable case. TIA

Treadlightly is an affiliate of Jeep. Their program is listed as a partnership program much like Employee pricing is 3% below invoice, Affiliate is 1%. So you could do the 5% I stated or go with an affiliate PIN and do 1% they do not stack.

Check the Recommended Dealer thread. It seems there are PLENTY of dealers that do stack it, at least that’s my interpretation. It takes a bit of combing but I think you’ll find what you’re looking for buried in there. I don’t think it costs the dealer anything at all.....

Sorry I don’t have the experience to give you exactly what you’re asking for but I remember reading that thread and feeling pretty confident. Good luck and keep us posted....!

Thanks Mike. I'd like to stick local if possible, and this dealer is the most highly recommended Phoenix area one in that thread. What I'm hoping for is the definitive "mechanics" of the Treadlightly offer so that it can be legitimately added to the offered discount. Is it possible the the TL discount is in fact NOT stackable but dealers do it to get the sale?

From an old post in the forum. Looks like it is not stackable.

The Tread Lightly Discount / The Affiliate Rewards Program guarantees a buyer preferred pricing -- the purchase or lease of a participating Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Dodge, SRT, and Fiat vehicle at 1% below factory invoice price. Of course, using this discount does not preclude you from trying to negotiate an even better deal at more than 1% below invoice price. And you can combine this discount with current incentives.

I hear you completely. You’re a little further along than me in your Jeep purchase journey, so this I cannot answer. However I’m now subscribed and hopefully you’ll have your answer for when my time comes... lol

Some dealers will stack it, some won’t. The dealership I purchased from is no-nonsense 7% below invoice and low doc fee. No requirement to finance through them etc. I asked about TL and an extra 1%. He said that 7% below is the best price they do, the TL helps the dealership make a few extra bucks if I was inclined, but that they won’t go 8% below if I had it. Seemed fair to me.

Per Jay the forum administrator:

I don't think dealers are required to give the discount if they are already 1% or more below invoice.

I just got home from visiting a few dealerships with the wife. She wanted to get an idea on exactly what she wanted. One of the dealerships actually had a JLU that she liked and I had the salesman come up with a quick number. He offered the employee pricing for all and nothing more. I told him that I had a affiliate number through Tread Lightly and he told me it won't stack. They tried to lowball my trade so I walked out the door and they didn't even try and stop me. Maybe dealerships don't want to sell.

When I bought my Gladiator there a year ago they told me they price all of their vehicles at 1% below invoice. I tried to get him to realize they were trying to sell me the Wrangler at MSRP since they will get reimbursed the friends and family rebate, but he didn't understand. I said they should at least start at the 1% and then add on the friends ad family discount, but

Now that I know exactly what we want I can start to find a dealership that wants a sale. My only concern is that the friends and family discount will go away at the end of the month and not be replaced with anything.
