I don't see a separate forum for transfer cases so I guess that this would be the best place to ask questions.

My 2020 JLUR now has 55K miles on it and I want to service the transfer case.
Does anyone know how much ATF + 4 I need for the service,
and is there anything else that I will need other than just the fluid?

Thanks in advance.

Your Rubi's Transfer Case --> 4.5 pts. (You may read 3.72 Pints/1.76 Liters but ...)

Valvoline Synthetic ATF+4 is what I do the deed with

You can also use Mopar ATF+4 Transmission Fluid. PN 6821805 7AB

Of course, there are other brands of ATF+4

Always be sure you can loosen the fill plug before you remove the drain plug.

You will need a hand pump to get the fluid in with.

Use yellow Teflon tape on the fill and drain plug.

Do know that you have a skid plate that will be in the way when you go to drain the transfer case...
Some guys/gals will pull the skid plate, but it is far easier, to fashion something like this to facilitate draining..

You place this between the drain hole and the skid plate.... you pull the plug and the fluid runs along it, and then into the drain pan. No big mess on the skid plate and no pulling the skid plate.

This is an aluminum foil pan you get at the dollar store, etc.. You just cut the shape and fold up the edges. It's about say 16" long and about 4-5 inches wide. Easily cleaned when you get done so you have for next time...

Note that all ATF+4 is (more or less) the same due to Mopars strict requirements to be labeled ATF+4.

Grab whatever suits your fancy...

Yep.

But I did find one that claims to exceed Mopar's standards, I believe with more group IV synthetic base stock.....Red Line C+. Not sure of reality, but they do have a good rep. I'm running it in my manual gear box. But still use Walmart ATF+4 in the T-case in both of my Jeeps. Even with 30k miles of use, the ATF+4 comes out looking new from those T-cases. I don't think life in there puts much stress on it.

I've found ATF+4 on clearance at times for a couple bucks a bottle! So I have a nice stash of Castrol, Valvoline, Napa, and Walmart. Lol!
