My guess is something like what the Nissan Xterra had in the back, as others have alluded to. Rails with weight rated tie down points.

Some other vehicles had similar setups. Some range rovers and the Honda Element come to mind.

THIS would be a welcome new feature! Hope that's what it is.

I hope those hooks can be removed if you want a flat bed sometimes.

Any more updates to this? I see the rail(s) in the cargo area (floor and tailgate) but haven’t seen any attachments yet. Anyone spot any yet?

I saw something in the user guide or owners manual that shows a separator you can put into the rails to...separate stuff from front to back. Example: your groceries behind the separator towards the tailgate and other stuff you don't want smashing your groceries on the other side closer to the seats.

Depending on their load rating they could be used for a lot of after-market items like sliding drawer systems overlanders like.

I'd take a tailgate like vertical wall at the tailgate so all my crap don't fall out when I open the door. Like 10" high wall.

This will be pretty rad to see how much will be sold utilizing the OEM rails.
