Towing SxS??

Anyone towing a SxS with a wrangler. I have a 26 rubicon x four door and was going to sell my rzr but thinking of keeping it.

it’s a 2 door pro S, I think around 2k lbs. what sort of rig trailer or so are you guys using. I have an aluminum 18’ tandem axle I’m thinking of trying to just buy a single axle 12’ or so to haul the rzr.

sold my prospector XL diesel as well as my raptor and plan to buy another truck in the near future but waiting to seen what the 27 diesels are looking like. Not in a hurry.

That was the plan but I’m considering keeping this one. It’s pretty damn nice, 26 pro s on 35’s.

I towed a Sportsman 1000 ATV on a 14' x 7' single axle trailer just yesterday. Total weight of ATV and trailer was ~1,800 lbs. Total trip was about 200 miles including going over a 9,000 ft elevation mountain pass. Our 392 Moab had no problems with that.

The trail ride on the ATVs was 116 miles long so it's a good thing we carried extra fuel with us. We were the first over the mountain this spring and needed to cut our way through about 20 trees that had fallen over the trail. At the higher elevations (10,000 ft) we had to bust our way through a lot of snow drifts. It was a cold and crisp day, with temps in the high 30s on the mountain. And we got snowed on for a few hours. We had a great time.

I have a friend with an older 2 door jl with a 2 seater razr he tows behind it. Believe it's the 3.6. I always thought he was crazy but he has driven from UT to N Cali and back with no issues.

I’m planning to buy another truck shortly just can’t decide what I want. I was also planning to sell the rzr but debating on keeping it now as well. I just am debating on buying a smaller aluminum trailer for a few months till I decide what truck I want.

I currently have a 18’ aluminum tandem but was debating on looking for a 12’ single axle aluminum to minimize what it has to pull and just dedicate that smaller trailer to the 2dr rzr.

im debating a ford next but im also debating going to a pre 2008 truck so no emissions bs. just tired of all the hoops for deletes and risk of tickets.

To me, the frontal area is more of a limit to towing with a Wrangler, than weight. I have a 7x12, single axle enclosed trailer. The trailer height is a good foot and a half taller than my JLUR.

Towing my enclosed trailer, with a motorcycle or two inside, about 2500#, I was getting 8-10 MPG. Towing the same motorcycle in my utility trailer, I get 12-14 MPG. Normal, not towing, I get 16-18 MPG.

This is the info I’m looking for. I’m trying to get a single axle that’s GVRW in with the 2 door pro s rzr comes in around 3-3200#’s I will be an open top most likely aluminum trailer.
