ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS — GASOLINE ENGINE (IF EQUIPPED)

A long break-in period is not required for the engine and drive train (transmission and axle) in your vehicle.

Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500 km). After the initial 60 miles (100 km), speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80 or 90 km/h) are desirable. While cruising, brief full-throttle acceleration within the limits of local traffic laws contributes to a good break-in. Wide-open throttle acceleration in low gear can be detrimental and should be avoided.

The engine oil installed in the engine at the factory is a high-quality energy conserving type lubricant. Oil changes should be consistent with anticipated climate conditions under which vehicle operations will occur
38 psi of nitrogen in the tires.

Took the back road some to avoid the hwy. Took me like an extra 1hr of driving though.

Well between my motorcycle and me rebuilding a 1988 Jaguar XJS v12 this Jeep will stay pretty stock which is why I got the Willys in the first place. Pretty capable out of the box.

I won't do lift and tires till I need new tires. Maybe if I find some rubi springs locally for sale I'll grab those though.

Besides that I did order rocblokz mud flaps, a storage bin that hangs off both sides of the center console so I have a place to store my cell phone, and door lock covers as they are the only shiny thing on the outside.

Most things I do will be to optimize internal storage due to I will be keeping the rear seat up and in most of the time. Oh that stock antenna has to go so probably a 16 inch one.

It's almost winter so I'll grab a bikini top, waterproof seat covers in the spring. I gonna try and do one topless day though before it gets too shitty out lol

About it. It's hard to not jump in but like I mentioned the willys has most things I want or need for hunting etc.

After warranty probably a rear locker, 35s and that's about it.

I did moab when I had a 2012 Nissan xterra on 33s, lifted, with only a rear locker and it was a challenge but still did it. Some people think you need 37s front front rear lockers 6 inch lift etc but that just makes trails easy and boring. And besides I might do hard-core trails once a year if I'm lucky so most of that stuff is not required or needed. If that makes sense?

Cheers

Congrats on your first Jeep! A couple things you want to make sure of before you leave the dealership:

- Read the JL Delivery Checklist and make sure you got everything that you bought: (https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/jl-delivery-checklist.3453/)

- MAKE SURE TO LOWER YOUR TIRE PRESSURE!!! For whatever reason, Jeeps ship with 45+ PSI in the tires. If you don't drop your pressures, your Jeep will feel like it's all over the road.

- Take it easy for the first 60ish miles. Try to keep it under 60mph. Follow the recommended break-in instructions in your owner's manual. This can be a hot topic on this forum, but better safe than sorry.

- Most importantly, enjoy the hell out of it!
Yep everything was there. I'll do the fuse thing later today but everything worked in my 3hrs of being it it with no issues.

Didn't know about the rubber plug for the hitch being included and was happy to see it even though I had one with me lol

Since the all weather mats were deleted from the factory it came with carpeted mats but my dealer had a set of the slush mats so through them in for free.
