Does it ever work with the air running? I have the V6 Etorque and it never shuts the engine off at a light when the air is running. So whether or not the A/C is on or off, as long as the air is on the etorque system never works. On my 4 cylinder with Etorque I feel like it used to work even with the air and A/C running. So took mine to the service department and they say it’s normal. In my mind it doesn’t seem normal because it never works with the A/C or air just on. Can anyone confirm that start stop with Etorque does not work even with the air on and AC off? Just trying to see if it’s really normal.

'20 2.0T e-torque here.

ESS shuts off engine at lights with AC on and air blowing.

If AC is working really hard to cool down, it will sometimes not activate, or shut down engine for only a few seconds before cranking again and giving "Cabin heating/cooling" status. Annoyingly, usually the latter Engine does stay off if blowing just air/no AC.

Pretty sure engine stays off when blowing heat, but I'm not testing that as it is already 90°F outside.

I asked a similar question about a week ago. It doesn't work with the heat on either if the top is open. Something about it reaching optimal temp, but I still don't understand it, and it still sounds strange. However, yes I noticed the same thing.

Forgot to mention, during an ESS event with AC blowing, the compressor is off, but air still blows. You can feel it warm up to ambient surprisingly quickly.

Maybe leave it on the ESS status screen too make sure it it is always Active/ready, and not charging.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes only for a few second. But it seems to be pretty normal.

I have the system and on very hot days I get the system not active because of cooling the compartment.
You're in Dallas I'm sure it's hot.
Use remote start to cool Jeep before you get in. ?

My screen just says start stop not ready due to cabin heating/cooling however even on road trips where the AC has been running for an hour and the cabin is cold the start stop still does not work. Even with the air just blowing it will not work. The only time it’s works is when then entire air system is in the off position. Even on days where it is cooler outside (70’s) it still doesn’t work with the air or AC on. On my old Etorque it used to work in the summer with the AC on I.e. it would turn off the engine and then if it detects it getting warm or that it’s been off for a long time it’ll kick the engine back on. I feel like something must be wrong because the system is never ready with the air on, just seems weird compared to my 19’ 2.0 Etorque

We were doing some light wheeling the other day and my ‘19 behaves the same now. I think the dealer has done an update in the last year when I had it in for service/warranty.
