I'm having a 2.5 MetalCloak lift put on my 2020 Willys and will be swapping my stock 32s for a larger tire and am looking for opinions. Mine is my daily driver and doesn't see extreme trails (mostly logging trails and beach). What's your opinion on 33s vs 34s? If I go 34s will I have to change my spare tire carrier to accommodate the rear bumper clearance?

Your spare tire carrier and rear bumper should be able to clear 35s. The 3rd brake light arm is adjustable and might have to be moved up a position if the tire blocks it.

Keep in mind, actual sprung size/height vs what the companies state. Go 35, you might see 34 once on the ground. My stock spare carrier handles a 35X10.5 just fine. The last pic is with "stated" 33 vs 35 & about 2.5" of lift. Adding 2 pics for you to compare. The rainbow pic is w/ the stock 33's and the moon pic is with the new 35's. BOTH are w/ the approx 2.5" lift.

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time
With 2.5" of lift I think it'll look silly with anything less than a 35" tire. However, that being said, for a vehicle that doesn't see "extreme" trails, anything greater than a 33" tire seems just as silly. I think you'd be best served with no lift and a 31" - 32" tire. It'll provide better mileage, better power and depending on the tread pattern plenty of capability and possibly better tread life. I really can't see any reason to put a lift or larger tire on your rig for how you will use it.

@kah.mun.rah is right - being your daily and your stated use, 33s are most likely sufficient, so I'd say it comes down to preference for looks maybe?

I'm running 285/70 r17s (stock rubi size, so close to 33s) on my Sahara with a 2.5 lift - in case the visual helps:

Yup - stock sizes with 2.5in lift look funky and you have to be comfortable with the looks. Hence my posting my pic to make sure OP is ok with the appearance before committing $$$ ;)

My wife’s Sahara has a 2.5” lift and 34s. Looks great, and no problem with stock spare tire carrier.
