I had one of those steel hub caps from a minivan hit my Jetta once. It was coming right at my heat at like 60mph on highway 50 in sacramento. Luckily it was flying in an arch and it curved enough to miss the windshield, but it hacked off the driver's side mirror. Guardian Angle on-duty that day.

Last year I was driving down a city freeway on a sunday morning and noticed in the distance what looked like a tire bouncing 15-20 feet high in my (left) lane coming toward me. No one else swerved, but after two more bounces it was coming down right at me. I jerked the wheel to the left where there was no shoulder, just the median barrier. I probably missed that barrier by six inches.
I never saw the tire hit again behind me, nor did I see anyone else swerve, nor any disabled car in the oncoming traffic lanes. I swear I saw that tire, but all the other visual evidence suggests that I imagined the whole thing. I still don't know...

I just love this story. So honest and humble and self-effacing.
Kudos, liquids.
Just tellin’ it like you saw it.
I’m thinking the bouncing tire was real, but who cares if it it wasn’t?

Back in my young and dumb days I worked an 11p to 7a shift. Whenever I would come up on days off, instead of going to bed when I got off I would just stay up all day. One Friday evening a buddy and I decided to go do some striper fishing underneath dock lights during a spawn. We slaughtered them, were out on the water until around 3am. Decided to call it quits. He was pulling his boat and I was behind him. About halfway home I needed to stretch. Closed my eyes for a split second, and when I opened them again, sure as shit, Jesus was standing in the middle of the road in front of me. I swerved because i didn't particularly want to run over Jesus. When I snapped out of it, I realized Jesus was actually my buddy's boat. His face was the motor, and the tail lights casting shadows were his hair and robes.
