Is this drain supposed to be sealed with a rubber plug, just like the rest of the drains on the vehicle are, or is it supposed to be constantly open, with a plastic, see-thru, type of plug, that allows water to drain no matter what?

Mine has the latter, just wanted to be sure nothing is missing?

What does you plug look like? Is yours 100% sealed type of plug, or does it look like mine in the pic below?

If the garage floor wasn't so dark, you would be able to see right through this open style of plug.

BTW, I have wanted to ask this question for the last 2 years loll

FWIW, all that gunk around it is Fluid Film.

That’s it, but my ‘19 didn’t have a hole in it (wish that it did). My compartment was completely filled with water from running soft top safari mode in the rain so I removed the plug.

Mine looks like that, except it has a clear plastic "membrane" over it also.

Hmmmm...interesting..mine is a '19 as well. I guess they "updated" that particular plug design sometime in '19?

After I read your post, I then noticed in the pic, that there is some sort of a "square" marking around the vicinity of that plug hole....makes me wonder if the clear plastic membrane you speak of, was a square one, and mine got peeled off. Maybe I did it, and I don't even remember lollllollollllll

Thanks for helping me put this at rest.

I am not able to get to mine at the moment to take a picture, but the clear plastic part is a perfect oval and covers the entire top, if I am remembering correctly.
