honestly, if you're not going to hit serious trails where you will need to hit the sway bar disconnect and stuff the tires in the wheel wells, which it sounds like you're not gonna do, then I would just slap 35s on for looks and call it a day.
I actually plan to do exactly this, just not all the time. Even if it's only 3-5 times a year, I want to be as capable as possible. It won't be a daily driver at all, strictly a weekend fun vehicle so I'm not as concerned about daily driving manners or fuel mileage as I would be if it were my DD. But I don't want an undrivable off road only monster truck either. I suppose middle of the road.

Thanks for the insights!

I'm going metalcloak 2.5 (if it comes out anytime soon) and k02 37s. This forums awful and convinced me I'd just be sad if I got 35s, so increase the price of everything by 3.

Check out the Hercules Terra Trac TG and Mastercraft CXT. Another popular tire is the Falken AT3W.

The Dick Cepek Extreme Country is a nice tire... And I’m checking out the Kenda Klever RT.

Are there other popular tire choices that I didn’t include that anyone would recommend for consideration?
315/70R17 Mastercraft Courser MXT. Looks aggressive, light weight (compared to others in the same category) and available in D rating.

I see that there are a few similar threads from other members asking about tire preferences too. So I’m bumping this thread that has a poll so they can see the preferences of those who’ve voted. And for others to vote if they like.

These are the options that I considered, but if you don’t see your preferred tire choice feel free to post comments as to what you choose and why.

So I’m going to go with either 35X12.50R17 or 315/70/17 tires on my JLUR. Probably on a 8.5x17” wheel, 2.5-3” lift. The question I have is, which tire? I know some of you have had at least 2 of these (perhaps all 4?) on your current or previous Jeeps and can directly compare one to another knowledgebly. For those that have, which do you prefer and why?
I am going for Toyo, just figuring out if I want the easy RT or see what MT fit on.

Currently running factory KO2 on my JLUR, they throw tons of stones on gravel roads, my door hinges, and front edge of fender flares are all chewed up from stones,
Going with Nitto Mud Grappler, or Ridge Grappler in 35's soon.
