I got the run around from a dealer (Ziegler in Downers Grove IL). Jeep Cares told me that they have to follow a process to reproduce the problem. No help from Jeep Cares even though there is a service bulletin on this issue that states the fix is replacing the backup camera. It should not take multiple trips to a dealer and require the dealer to keep your vehicle for multiple days to try and reproduce this problem. After two winters, I said screw it and bought a new backup camera (part number 68452959AB). Installed it myself in 1 hour. Solved the problem. Sad that a dealer could not do this for me. Jeep service and customer support is terrible.

Had this issue today. Took the 4 doors off put the tube doors on. Got in this afternoon and no backup cam, blue screen, radio skips every 5 seconds or so. No stop/start and getting a "battery charging message"

Read this thread. Turned off radio, turned off Jeep. No brake, push start button once and then hold green phone button for 30 seconds. Start Jeep and everything is fine except the battery.

2020 JLUR 14.5k miles. Will call dealership just to check.

So I got in my Jeep this morning and this issue described by you all started happening. Radio regardless of FM
Or satellite starts clicking off briefly every few seconds. I’m in Arizona, about 50 degrees out. I have no back up camera or u connect. Any body ever have any luck besides replacing the back up camera?

Thanks for wasting my time to come check this response to my question. What a valuable role you play.
Don‘t waste OUR time by joining a dedicated JL forum to ask a question about your JK.

Battery charging message is what wayoflife guy on youtube had when his ESS second battery went out. I think that may be what is causing out problems?

Well crap... had previously shared my challenges getting the BU camera replaced a couple years ago as it was a new issue for Jeep. After camera replacement its been fine until I recently replaced both batteries and the weather is now frequently under 30F. Bam problem is back full tilt. BU cam will fail to work, stereo audio chops in and out. Not happy about this...

Can't imagine how new batteries would cause the reoccurrence but I guess its back to the dealer to go through troubleshooting... again. ?

Hi Arkewn,

If you'd like additional support through the diagnosis process, feel welcome to PM us with your VIN and appointment details at the dealer to get a case started.

Purchased a 2018 Wrangler a few months back. Was a certified vehicle. Immediately this auto start /stop was noticed not working. I fought with dealer to change batteries because it constantly said charging battery all the time. About a month again they finally did. Now it works sometimes mostly after a good couple hours of running. Then is works like three times and warning lights pop up. The one for this feature and the traction control lamp come on and it no longer works. Same to lights that would come on after first purchasing it. Turn on the vehicle and restart and would be the same for awhile again until the start/stop worked again.

The interesting thing was that after they changed the battery a week later the backup camera stopped working. It was just a blue screen. Stayed like this for a few days. Then the radio started cutting in and out as many have reported here. I pulled out the radio after trying a battery disconnect over night which did not fix it. I charged the main battery overnight and same. I pulled the radio and checked all connections and were fine. I disconnected the backup camera and radio then worked fine in run mode and when started. I put the backup camera application on the main screen. This app will only only be active when in the run mode and only in the run mode would the radio act up. I next plugged the cable back into the radio and disconnected it where it connects on the back tailgate under the plastic panel. Radio still worked fine until I plugged back in the camera. Camera would then work but radio messed up again. I next removed the camera and checked connection directly at the camera. With it unplugged at camera radio was also fine again. I ordered and replaced the short cable for rear gate connection to the camera and this did not fix the issue. Everything seems to point to the camera. I see the part number of the camera was replaced by this new number that is mentioned in this post. I will next be trying the camera. Seems to be the problem although it does actually work. Not sure about these lines on it being gone or not I would have to plug back in and check. Will update after changing it out. They changed the small motorcycle like battery up under the fender but I still think the main battery has a bad cell which is causing the other issue.

The audio system in my 2019 sport is CRAP. Sometimes it doesn't come on at all and it can't be turned on. Sometimes the volume doesn't work. When I listen to a podcast from my phone, turn off and leave the Jeep, then return and restart the vehicle, the volume of the radio, not podcast, is incredibly loud and the volume switch doesn't allow it to be turned down for at least a minute.

The time consistently changes, like power is cut off the unit then when it restarts the clock starts at whatever time it feels like it.

The dealer has re-installed, updated, deleted the software also updated and installed new radios at least twice. Now its out of warranty so I'm F'd.

This sounds like some of the same issues with the Radio/Camera I had when my 2018 was new. Finally got the dealer to replace the camera and no issues since.
good luck.

What is the Service Bulletin number for this issue? I have the same camera/stereo problem, but cannot locate the Service Bulletin anywhere, despite it being referenced multiple times in this thread. Thank you!
