I’m experiencing a ticking noise when coasting. It sounds like a rattle and as soon as I give it any throttle input it goes away. I just dropped it off at the local dealer. 2021 2dr 2.0 8spd with 22k miles. Appreciate any input.

They are replacing the turbo, sounds like if it is the arm, the noise will be back shortly.

Never owned a turbo before this but i know what you're talking about. I always thought this was just a normal sound associated with the turbo winding down or something.

It doesn't bother me and has done it the same since i took possession with 19k miles on it. Next time I see my buddy I'll check on his. But based off a quick glance at the linked thread above i think this is just another characteristic of the 2.0 being noisy.

Edit: i have 43k miles on it currently so if something was going to blow up, i think it would have already. And I've done some wheeling with it too.

It’s extremely noticeable when driving past a building or something that echoes.

Picked the Jeep up today and the noise is gone. It’s even quieter at start up/ idle. I’ll report back if it becomes noisy again, just wanted to update the thread.

If the clicking comes back and you seem to hear it more when turning corners, being a 2021, check the torque of the ball joint nuts.

Some turbo configuration require to change the turbo housings when the actuators shaft become loose, probably why the turbo got replaced. 22k is rather low millage for this issue IMO, if that was the issue.
