In the tread.

Suggestion maybe make a Canadian flag one. If I didn't order the 1941 for my willys would have been a easy 2nd choice.

Yay!!! My 1941's got here today. They look great on the white Willys.

Thanks Threedom.

I am happy to hear you received your caps, finally! We have been struggling with the speed of the USPS for the free shipping so we've changed our approach and are now using 1st class shipping with tracking. Sure, it may cost us more but timely delivery and a great experience is more important. We continue learning and improving!:like::rock:

Thanks for your patience waiting 10 days!

I'm not sure if THREEDOM suggests/encourages painting or discourages painting of their offerings but.....

I know from reading/researching, that any grade Nylon PA12 material can be painted...

If you click on the link below you will find lots of info on prep of part/area of nylon part to be painted, paint to use, etc..

WOW! Thanks for sharing this great information @Rhinebeck01! This entire community owes you a debt of gratitude for your contributions to so many posts in sharing information you come across! ??

Painting the PA12 is definitely achievable with solid results. We'll typically use automotive paints with an automotive primer to help with adhesion. Our paint projects are typically sprayed which isn't suitable for the caps unless you are doing a single color. Truthfully, you should be good with any paint that is designed for plastic subjected to UV and weather.

For paint small things you can get a product called liquid mask. It's used in the radio control scene for making custom paint jobs. Works very well. Google it

Thanks for letting me know too. I think it would look nice to have the fob buttons be white, so it'd be a pretty small/fun learning project.

Months ago, when I first got a test Model M to use/evaluate.... I thought as you.... that I would like to paint the buttons..... Took me little time to discount that idea as I really liked the M just as it came from THREEDOM. Nifty little fob.. a pleasure......

That could certainly happen to me too, but I figured I could gather info while I wait for it to arrive. I'll be excited to replace the huge fob.

I encourage you to disassemble your stock fob now, and place the disassembled fob in a zip lock bag...

Careful with the tiny tiny roll pin that secures the key as it can go missing quickly.

Doing the disassembly a head of time makes THREEDOM fob assembly day / when the THREEDOM fob arrives a more pleasurable day...

If you wait til the THREEDOM fob shows up.... and then start disassembly, you will find yourself rushing..

You do want to go slow in regard to the stock fob disassembly... Disassembly is quite easy but you want to take your time getting the RFID free from the stock fob...

IF you RFID chip resists removal, walk away for a few minutes and then go at it again... Some RFID's come right out and some make you work a tad at it... 8-)

You are really going to like/enjoy your Model M.

Just placed an order! Can’t wait to get ‘em and throw them on ?
@TallDude

The contrast of the key lock caps on your Hydro color, JLU will look terrific.. Post back with a pic when you get them installed.. What design did you go with??

I'm waiting for American Flag design wiper caps to arrive.... Will post pics once I get them installed.
I have Tread design key lock caps, already..
