I recently was going through my Tazer menu and decided to peek at DTC’s. No CEL odd behavior, or any other warnings, just curious. I saw the PCM had 4 codes populated.
C0501- front left wheel speed rationality
C0507- front right wheel speed rationality
C050D- left rear wheel speed rationality
C0513- right rear wheel speed rationality
Again, no CEL, ABS/ TCS/ ESP is all still active, so these are probably latent codes.
I find it odd that all 4 wheel speed sensors would trip irrational. The last time I checked DTC’s was not long after I first got the Tazer. Since then, I’ve put 35’s on (and corrected size), have done some light wheeling, but it’s mostly daily driving. The only thing I can think of is with the Tazer I have brake hold active to hold all 4 brakes at stop lights (which shouldn’t cause irrationality)……..but I did try out the turn assist once. Not sure if I checked DTC’s since then or not, but having one wheel locked, the opposite wheel spinning at 2x’s what it should be for a given driveshaft RPM, and the front wheels clawing the entire vehicle around a corner would look very odd to a PCM that didn’t know what was going on.
I’ve decided to just not use turn assist at all since I’m in a sport on 35’s, and broncos are snapping diffs using the feature. So if that’s what caused the irrationality….no big deal. But could there be anything else? I just find it odd that all 4 popped an irrationality code. Could there be any other reason? Axles have not been submerged in over a year, condition of the signal lines to the sensors look good.
