how much up and down or rotational movement do you have in your synergy drag link? Synergy link is in, definitely beefed up steering but has lots of movement in joint, maybe it’s supposed to? Everything torqued to spec but seems to rotate at pinch bolt threads on pitman arm and joint quite a bit. (Yes slit in adjuster and drag link are matched up) TIA for any feedback or suggestions.

Thanks for purchasing our drag link! We use a single plane tie rod end on the pitman arm side which limits the amount of up and down movement in the drag link (often referred to as flop). Grabbing the bar and moving it up and down should result in around an inch of movement in the bar.

If what you are saying is the tie rod end or adjuster threads are turning when you try and move the bar up and down, your pinch bolt is not sufficiently clamping the assembly and needs to be tighter. Those threads should absolutely not be moving. If they do, it is the same as having a loose jam nut. Email [email protected] if you are still having issues.

Thank you for your reply. That’s exactly what was happening, tons of movement in threads at pinch bolt after shop installed, and slit was also not lined up. I brought it back, watched them line up slit and torque to 90lbs and it was still turning. The shop then told me “that’s how it is with these drag links, you should expect lots of movement and play”! I knew this couldn’t be right, your tech support Michael was very helpful. I ended up doing it on my own although it took a few tries for it to finally clamp. All is good now and I’m very pleased with the quality of this link, helped steering tremendously! Thanks!

Perfect. I'm glad you got it figured out. Despite their torque wrench possibly reading 90 lb-ft, it should be pretty clear it was not tight enough if it was not sufficiently clamping the assembly. Them thinking a loose connection was ok makes me wonder if they even torqued it correctly or had a calibrated torque wrench. Either way, I would be very wary about letting them work on the Jeep again. Allowing a loose connection on a steering component like that is a recipe for disaster. Regardless of assumed torque, it needs to be tight enough so it doesn't move.

Did it improve loose steering feeling? I’ve upgraded my track bar, LCAs and steering stabilizer and drag link and tie rod are next. Just exploring options. Definitely improvements with each upgrade but I want beefier than stock...

Yes, definitely feels heavier and more solid although they’re is still some dead spot dead center, I personally think that will only be fixed with the reflash TSB, it certainly helped my previous JL after having it done
