JL Sport here,
Traded a Renegade for my first Wrangler JL Sport, came with 2.5" lift, Rubi rims and tires, door sill plates, and window tinting. yeah not quite brand new, had 4500 miles on it. But hey it's new to me. Currently the only mod was to the tail light added the OEM LED's, waiting for the rock sliders to arrive, nothing but the pinch seam for now.
It's kind of funny how i ended up with wrangler in the first place, i had taken my Renegade in for an oil change, went in early before the sales floor even opened. Checked in at the express lane and was told it will be around 2 hours, with nowhere to go, i started walking around and got to talking with a kid mounting balloons on some of the cars. The guy starts following me and finally says you seem to be focused on the Wrangler. I said yeah i really want a Rubicon, but need to hold out a little longer. After looking and talking i noticed that i only had a few things that i really wanted, heated seats, LED Lights, power locks, and a manual transmission. Looking on the lot they didn't have what i was looking for, not color, not anything really. I found out after words they keep most of their inventory off site, what is that crap. Anyway, while i was trying to blow off this sales guy, he pull ups in a sport, the one i mentioned earlier. Well as it turned out i went in for an oil change and drove home with a new 2018 JL Wrangler sport. The Techs can really work some magic in the shop let me tella, what a difference. lol
The only thing i really miss is the power locks with proximity sensor, until i take off the doors. lol.
I do have one question, reading the post and i find myself even looking to doing it, why does everyone add the Rubi equipment to the sport? Is it cheaper than just buying aftermarket?
