Warn has a fairly new version of their Zeon series called the "Zeon XD". They just came out with it about a month ago and it sounds like it's a upgraded Zeon and only comes in a 10s or 12s version. From what I've read it is slightly narrower then the regular Zeon but it's a pretty minimal difference.

Being a new version of the Zeon and only been out for about a month now there isn't much information out there on them.

Curious if anyone has had eyes or hands on one yet. I ordered one earlier today.

I got one when they came out. It's my First winch, so I do not have anything to compare it to, but with no load it seems really quick, and it fit without any issues in the stock steel bumper. I was able to get to all the bolts with no real issues. hardest thing was getting the line seated in the drum, and ended up doing that once it was totally installed.

Hopefully @Northridge4x4 will do a comparison video of the regular Zeon and the XD series.

Being able to get to all of the bumper bolts easier is a win in my book.

If they are just slightly narrower that would certainly make most installations a bit easier! Also interested in a breakdown of the changes...

I recently ordered a new Zeon 10-S for my JLR-X from a local 4x4 shop and that will be my last purchase from them...The winch is fine, however they did not have one in stock and had to order from their wholesaler and although they were aware a new model was available, they did not inform me...Simple reason, they received 'incentives' for pushing out the old ones. There is nothing wrong with these practices as long as the customer is informed, otherwise a bit unethical...

Someone else got my money for the new Fox 2.5's and the rest of my full suspension upgrade parts! :)

only reason I was able to get one was because on the Northridge site it stated the part was superseded by the XD. I clicked on it and that was the one I bought. I will give them credit, it was clear the new ones were coming out. I just had to wait a few weeks to get it.

When I asked warn about comparison they sent me this. Per the person replying “The XD is an upgraded (ZEON)…it’s hard to compare to a Platinum because of the options. I personally feel the XD is the Best winch on the market right now”

The really good, I ordered my new Warn XD Zeon 10s and AEV front bumper w/AEV 7000 lights and BD light bar for the skid plate all from Northridge 4x4 and just got the last two pieces delivered yesterday which was the winch and skid plate. Northridge 4x4 was excellent to work with and order from. Ordering the new Warn XD Zeon was easy peasy but ordering AEV's front bumper is like buying a jigsaw puzzle that you have to order each piece separately but the sales guy I worked with at Northridge 4x4, I think his name was Kurt, was awesome and helped me get everything ordered so I didn't forget any of the parts and pieces which there are MANY to get this all installed the way I want so huge shoutout to Northridge 4x4 for that. Also, all my stuff came from Kentucky and I live in Wa state so it had to come alllllllllllll the way across the US and for everything I think there was 12-14 different boxes UPS delivered. All but two arrived last Friday the 12th which was a shock because I never thought they'd get here that fast considering I barely ordered the stuff Monday the 8th but they did.

I talked to Warn before I ordered my winch from NR 4x4 because I was looking at their Zeon and Platinum Zeon, I didn't know the XD Zeon even existed until the Warn guy told me about it. After talking to him awhile their new XD 10s sounded like it was a slightly upgraded version of their regular Zeon and would do everything I needed and then some so I appreciate Warn for taking the time with me to explain the differences and saving me some money by going with their new XD over the Platinum.

The not so good and Unrelated to the actual winch but now that I have everything I need to replace the cheesy plastic Barbie Jeep front bumper on my new JLUR with the new one from AEV, holy shit balls, this is definitely going to be an all day operation. The AEV bumper is so modular it's going to be like playing with an erector set for big kids. None of it looks to be very difficult but it definitely will be time consuming and I'm going to have to pay very close attention to the steps not to get the cart ahead of the horse and put something together just to find out later I have to take it back apart because I can't reach something and this piece won't fit if that little piece isn't in first. Y'all remember the days of instructions that read fold flap C over E in order to fit flap A and B? Yeah, this is going to be one of those kinds of things. Installing and hooking up the actual Winch is probably going to be the easiest part.

The regular Zeon is no slouch so this new version XD should be a slight improvement to an already great winch but only time will tell. Warn typically makes pretty good stuff some I'm confident this newest version will be too but it would be nice to hear from folks that have had theirs long enough to use them but considering they've only been out a little over a month it'll probably take awhile before we start hearing much about them in use.

Back in the day, I had a Warn XD 9000 on the Jeep I owned at the time. I was pretty serious about rock crawling back then, so the winch got used at least 3 out of 4 trails I did, or about 3 time a month. Back then the difference between the regular 9000 Warn and the XD 9000 was that the XD 9000 had a more powerful motor. Pulling power was the same, but the XD version had a much faster line speed. That XD 9000 remains as the favorite winch I have owned.

I think you guys will like the Zeon XD winches.
