I agree with Bendiesel... I waited on buying a JK with the hope of jeep strapping in a Diesel. I bought, built, drove, and sold a YJ and TJ through the JK years in anticipation for the ā€˜coveted’ diesel...Disappointment! I started the wait again as the new JL arrived at the dealership with still no Diesel. And then.... a friendly face in the Dynatrac booth at SEMA with direct insight to Jeep told me NOT to wait. Matter of fact... he told me to buy the 3.6 before they ruin it. He left it at that. I did. And won’t look back. Love my 2019 JLUR 3.6 8speed auto!

Interesting that you herd that at sema. I presume that was this the 2018 sema? I know there is a video of jeep testing the ed in wrangler and the new ram at hells revenge.....

Correct this was at the 2018 SEMA show. My take on the conversation was that the ED was definitely going to happen. However with all the problems and complications with a first run of a first gen diesel in a wrangler it would not be worth the extra $$$ for such a potential headache when a proven 3.6 to 8speed package works so well. Trust me when I say I've been waiting a long time for a diesel wrangler and left that conversation very disappointed. I waited a month and then ordered a 2019 JLUR 3.6 auto. I don't regret.... love it!
