Well I finally pulled the trigger yall. Ordered an atlas tcase. 4.3:1. Hopefully it will ship in mid July. I’ll install after I get back from the jamboree. I don’t think I want to take on a big project and not have any testing time before driving 6+ hours to the rubicon. I’ll try and do a small write up for the forums as I will be installing in my driveway as always

Man, that would be a gamechanger for the rubicon. You sure you want to wait till after?

Just depends when it ships.. currently lead time is 6-7 weeks that puts it shipping first or second week of July. I would receive it the week before i leave for the rubicon trail. There’s no way I’d try to install and hope it works without issues in the pcm or drive train and have to skip the jamboree. I’ve made it through with my current t-case I can make it again with it lol!

Decades ago, 28" tires were "big", 2.46 Xfer case ratio was the norm. People ran the Rubicon with that setup all the time. A friend ran it in a stock flat fender. I'm sure it wasn't easy, but they got it done. Now a big Ford F550 with a giant port-a-potty pump tank on it drives it every week.

It’s definitely doable but it works the clutch more than it should to me. Either way I’m looking forward to having the better ratio and a gear driven tcase

👍Just defending your choice to go to the Rubicon with your OE case. Doing that job in your driveway just before your trip would be a challenge. I did my engine change a couple years ago and just finished it a couple weeks before a committed Rubicon trip. But I had time to drive it a few hundred miles. Still, it was a bit of stress.
