Thanks buddy. I was thinking a similar thing with a loose vacuum hose. My biggest concern is the sound of the engine. Thing sounds like a diesel with the tapping / ticking. I'm reading all these horror stories. I hope I'm not the next one. My dealer has been amazing thus far. I hope they continue it. Thanks for the reply.I would look for a loose vacuum hose. the sucking sound is not normal and they probably just missed a hose on reassembly.
As for the stop/start... look at the threads about bypassing the aux battery. just lift one negative wire from the battery terminal and pull a fuse. I'd bet that it starts working again.
I'm far from mechanically inclined. But I'm pretty sure that it didn't sound like that the first day I got it. That video is from last night and I got it back on Monday so about 5ish days. My dad is the mechanic of the family - I'm still learning. He joked asking if they swapped my 3.6 for the Eco Diesel ?Has this work already been completed and it still sounds like that?
sure sounds like a bad engine to me.Yup...
They told me before they gave it back to me that if the engine oil pump didn't solve the problem they were going to have to put a new engine in it. Because the lifter and rockers didn't solve the problem. They alleged the engine oil pump solve the problem in combination with replacing the lifters and the rockers. Clearly it didn't.sure sounds like a bad engine to me.
JFC. That engine is so full of metal that it has no oil pressure at the cams. They told me before they gave it back to me that if the engine oil pump didn't solve the problem they were going to have to put a new engine in it. Like I said far from mechanically inclined. I'm embarrassed to say I just learned during all of this what a lifter and a cam is. ? But it definitely sounds no bueno. I guess what do you want for 60k ?. I'm just hoping the dealership does the right thing and doesn't make this an order to fight with Jeep. I'm glad to hear that others believe it's the same issue. I'm glad the dealership documented the issue and that they were able to duplicate it. Again, just hoping they do the right thing. Maybe go above and beyond and replace it with the 392 engine for my headaches ??? I'll be the test dummy for the first 2 door 392 Rubi ?JFC. No doubt they should put a long block in it under warranty. A very easy repair, especially compared to the work that was already done.Like I said far from mechanically inclined.
