Hi all,
I'd like to mount a 3 Gallon Rotopax fuel container, cargo basket, maybe a 10# propane cylinder, an axe, and a set of recovery boards on the back of my 4dr Wrangler. I'm running 35s and presently don't have a tailgate reinforcement bracket, and that's part of what I need back there as well. I'd rather spend a bit more on good quality rather than some piece of junk that will rust away after a year or break apart on a tough trail. The extra fuel and traction boards are the must-haves, but if I can also put on the gas bottle and a top basket for firewood that would be sweet.

I'm not interested in a Temu Special or paying the Overland Tax for something hand-built with locally-sourced organic steel (heh), but just something rugged and reliable that isn't a long-term nightmare would be ideal. Please and thanks.

I recently installed a SmittyBilt HD Pivot tire carrier (SB7743), and it's stout. Full hinge replacement instead of just reinforcing the stock hinges. SB claims you can carry up to a 40" spare that's 135 lbs, so it shouldn't have an issue with your 35 and additional gear.

Looks like a decent support, but I'm more interested in an actual bracket/basket combination to hold accessories. I've seen plenty of folks with them but I don't know who makes the best ones.

Anything you do is going to require either a swing away tire/accessory carrier or a hinge/gate reinforcement like the CavFab or MotoBilt tire carrier. The stock hinge/gate is not going to carry the load you described.

If I were going swing away, I'd look at either Rock Hard 4x4 or LOD. I had a LOD swing away carrier on my TJ and it was bullet proof. Carried two jerry cans and the shelf held a cooler and fluids when we weren't off road.

I've got the CavFab hinge/gate reinforcement on my JLUR and I carried a 5 gallon jerry can and 5lb propane tank on it to Big Bend a month or so ago. You could add the MASS shelf to the spare as well if needed.

I think I'm going to go with the LoD bumper/tire swing with the basket above the spare. As I re-discovered this week, transporting firewood inside the Jeep is messy and requires hours of work to get all the shmutz out after the trip is over :)

I really need to be able to transport firefood, two Rotopax containers (fuel and water), or other containers for both those liquids. Bonus would be Maxtrax (I can store those on the roof), and a small 10# propane tank. I hate having to fit in multiple 1lb green gas canisters!
