They only rest on the steel bumper.
It was not made for 35 there'sthere's been videos with 35 that been to tailgate you want to take a chance go ahead I didn't I bought that relocation bracket. very expensive chance to take you're talking a new tailgate painted you're talking several thousand dollars it's not worth it to me if it is to you then do it don't buy one. Nowhere in writing does it say the stock tailgate and bracket will hold it guaranteed. Or does state that it's covered if you bend it with 35s

Links to the multiple videos? I remember there was one early on, but then there were so many people posting videos of 35s and 37s off road with no issues.

It’s been a while since I checked so I’m due for an update and it seems like you’ve found some good new info.

I simply stated that 35's rest on the steel factory bumper, not the plastic one. With the plastic bumper you have 1n inch or so of space.

I believe 35s:Steel Bumper :: 37s:Plastic Bumper.

While I agree that reinforcing the tailgate for heavier tires is a good idea, especially off-road, I think $650 for the MOPAR tailgate reinforcement is a rip off. I'll wait for alternative offerings.
85lbs is total weight. With new wheels (Quadratec Rubicon Xtremes) and 315 KO2's I am up to 94 lbs, 10 over the limit. I have ordered the reinforcement kit for peace of mind and its $485 from amazon, a good deal.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0781W6PL5/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

With the 35 do you also need the relocation bracket as well?
No , you don't need it. The relocation kit raises and puts the wheel farther away from the tailgate for 37" with the steel bumper.
