Switchback? Turn signal wiring for KC Flex 3 Backlight.

After months of research and trial/error I am wondering if there are any lighting/12v pros on here that can help me with (what is probably) a simple issue.

I have the KC Flex Era 3's mounted above my cowl panel. These have a single yellow wire that powers a back light. I am currently running them directly to a 12v switch. (Voswitch JL400 - Awesome BTW). What I really want to know is if there is a way to make each light stay on when my switch/running lights are on, but blink with my blinkers when I use my turn signal. I've tried every combination of wiring I could find including this switchback module:



My fender turn signals have been removed (fender chop) and instead I am using Diode Dynamics Elite headlights amber halos as my signals. No matter what I try I can't get them (the KC's) to stay on as running lights, but then blink when I use the turn signals. I can only get one or the other to work. The DD headlight halos I'm running are pulling this off so it has to be possible.

I was able to find a diagram on these forums for the KC's and it's attached - I appreciate any help.

You could use a relay on each side to open/close the circuit when the blinkers get power
