Hello all.

I have searched some but it doesn't seem to be talked about a lot. So I am going to ask.

So for us none Rubicon guys, I have a 21 JLUW with a 2" spacer lift and new Falken Wildpeak A T3W.

Need some opinion's on which is the best manual sway bar disconnect system.

Thanks

Darryl,

There are a lot of sway bar disconnect posts on this forum. You just have to look. Above is my latest from a couple of days ago. I have probably a dozen others.

I wouldn't off-road without a Quick Swaybar Disconnect kit that completely decouples both links for max articulation. I invested in the $150 Teraflex kit.

But they can be a little difficult to reconnect when alone. Over time, I find that it gets easier with practice. With a helper leaning or pushing up on an open driver's door it's pretty trivial. Read my earlier posts, they'll get you started.

Here is another option that while a bit more money, you don't have to lay in the dirt at all. I have these and imo they work great. I have a JLUS with the Mopar lift with 35s and Method wheels with 0 offset. No rubbing or issues and no cutting on the fender liner either.

One of the reasons I like these is that just yesterday we ran 25 miles of trail, jumped on the interstate for 10 minutes and then ran another 20 miles of trail. While yes, you have time while airing back up to connect manual linkages, doing it 4 times seems like a lot more effort than just turning the top knobs back and forth.

I had the Apex setup on my previous JTM on 37s. These were absolutely easy to use, does not need to be on flat ground to reconnect. Just a twist of a top to disconnect, then to reconnect, twist one top, push sway bar down till it clicks, then close the top on the other which will connect and lock once you drive a bit if it hasn't connected already.

Takes less than 5 seconds to disconnect and probably 10-15 seconds to connect. Only downside is it's much more pricey than most other options.

Can't tell you..shhh
Has anyone put the 10 inch version of the Autolynx on a stock XR? Just wondering if there is any fender liner rubbing.

I've read on multiple occasions about the autolynx developing a constant clunking, after a little bit of use. It's due to the locking mechanism loosening up with some mileage. Some of the comments go on to mentioning that the locking mechanism eventually becomes finicky when it comes to locking back up.

Makes sense, as that design requires a lot of small moving parts, for the sake of not having to pull a plow pin to physically disconnect.

It's also worth noting that the autolynx have a high chance of limiting flex, when compared to a disconnected link, because the bushings provide a limited amount of misalignment. That's why many Rubicons with the edisconnect use sway links with heim joints instead of traditional rubber bushings.

I used to have the Rock Krawler No Limits links. I've since deleted the edisconnect for front and rear Antirocks, which also utilize heims.
