Trying to view your pics on a smart phone... Looks to me like you are fooling with the connectors in regard to the amplifier when you need to be back up there at the security gateway connectors(2).
See the red circled SGW connectors in this pic.
This has been my exact experience as well. Every time I use my FlashCal I end up tweaking my neck or back.Mission accomplished. Heading to CVS for some contortionism pain medicine.
I'm not sure if this improves things for you, but government regulations stipulate that the OBD-II port is within a certain distance of the steering column, so the manufacturers are limited to a small radius.This has been my exact experience as well.
