Odd behavior this morning, started to drive and noticed my speedometer was about 30 KM/h off... when I stopped the needle sat at about 30... I powered off the jeep/restarted....same behavior (it would cycle to its extreme but then would settle back to 30KM/h)

The dash electronic speed reading was correct but obviously not the "analog " speedometer.

As I was parking to leave for the week at the airport, it looked like the needle started to get closer to zero as I unloaded the truck...so I'm hoping it's all better when I get back in a week.

Has anyone else seen this?

Have you had your batteries checked recently? You have a 2018, which is at the point of needing new batteries if you are still running the OEMs. The JL is known to start having all types of weird electrical issues when the batteries start going.

Have the main battery checked along with the aux again . Typically when one goes, so does the other.

I’ve had it happen before after a service at the dealer. Didn’t notice it until turning onto the highway.
Turned off and took it back in. The dealer had done a simple all reset and it worked again. They made a note on the file about it so they’ll replace the unit when it happens again. They’d never seen it before. Been driving for 15000km without issues after it happened

Always replace both Main and Aux batteries at the same time. They are linked so when one goes it severely stresses the other. If you only replace one you'll constantly be in a state where a sub-optimal battery is stressing a new battery, reducing the life of both.

Returned home, and all is good.... for now. Will have the garage check them next time I'm in.

I just has this issue this morning. Same engine / transmission combo- v6, manual transmission, 48,800 miles.

The only thing that’s different about the jeep and the environment is that it has gotten colder (43 degrees F this morning) and my tires are less inflated than normal, 26-28 PSI (usually I keep them at around 32).

Every time I cycle the ignition from off to run without actually turning over the ignition the resting speed gets closer to zero. After four on-off cycles it’s now back to resting at zero mph.

here I am sitting in my garage at 14 mph.
