I noticed my screen had been rebooting quite often over the past few weeks.

Today, it got totally stuck on “Loading Navigation”.

I tried the Uconnect4 reset procedure posted above (hold the VR + phone buttons down for 30 seconds, turn off the engine, etc.); I also tried the GPS recalibration procedure (driving counter clockwise in a tight circle 5 times).

Nothing works; it’s still stuck.

The Jeep has less than 12,000 miles.

Anyone has any other ideas?

Thanks.

PS - I’m trying to avoid taking it to the dealer. It takes one week to get an appointment, and then is half a day to drive there, have them diagnose the problem, tell me that that’s how it is, and drive back.

Got an appointment next week at the dealer 30 miles away.

We were supposed to be leaving for Death Valley on that day, and was planning on using the navigation extensively.

The dealer 1.5 miles away doesn’t have any appointments for three weeks. They suck anyway: they will refuse to lift a finger because the Jeep has a lift and 35s. Been down that road with them before...

Situations like this is when owning a Jeep sucks.

Hope the thing fixes itself over the next few days, or I will need a Plan B.

What radio do you have? Try putting it in run, hold radio power button and tune button for 15 seconds (I believe this is the time duration but may be off by a few seconds) and then let go. That reset mine when we were troubleshooting my radio issue, mine ended up being a faulty amplifier.

Ya, on my 8.4 I held the buttons on the dials to reset.

Make appt and use one of those for GPS? TBH, I never use the built in Nav. Waze on Android Autop exclusively. Even within town as it shows traffic as well.
There’s hardly any cell reception in Death Valley.

GPS should still work though.
Just a fall back. That dealer sure does suck!

Well, after trying everything in vain yesterday, the thing fixed itself today. Go figure...

As good as this is, it doesn’t inspire much confidence.

Keep an eye on it. It's my understanding that there's something like a cellular phone sim card/chip in these radios. If it goes bad (as odd as it may seem they have been known to fail), you'll lose certain functionality on the radio like GPS.
