Confused slightly about the steering setup and trying to figure out this new design. It looks solid, and looks like it could be a huge improvement over the JK.
Drag link is easy, it connects ball joint style to the top of the knuckle then connects to the steering box via the pitman just like the JK. The big difference though is how the tie rod bar connects. If you start in the middle of the tie rod bar and make your way towards the wheel, just past the two pressed seams, you see where a bracket bolts on to the bottom, then bolts to the steering stabilizer which is easy enough. What I cant tell though is whats going on after that as you get closer to the wheel. It looks like the tie rod bar is double jointed?
Just past where the bracket for the stabilizer bolts on, right below the drag link where the tie rod bar curves towards the back of the Jeep, it looks like a joint. There is without a doubt, a bolt there...for something, then it curves back towards the front of the Jeep and mounts to the knuckle ball joint style. Maybe that first bend where there is a bolt looks like it might just be the stabilizer bracket being extended out and following the tie rod bar but I cant tell.
Not that any of this matters, we know based on reviews its a heck of a lot better than JK road manners....and there are a lot of engineers who I would imagine tested this extensively. I recently did a steering swap to my wifes Jeep and thought about how the JL setup compared, then saw this and got interested in others opinions.
Regardless of all that, this setup looks likes its got larger, beefier components compared to a JK which is good. I also like how the stabilizer is repositioned more towards the wheel and bolted at both ends instead of using a pressure clamp type setup to the tie rod bar as seen on JKs.
