My Aux battery has failed on my 2020 JLU. I decided to do the Aux bypass by pulling fuse 42, then the Aux battery negative terminal (see attach). I trickle charged the battery overnight, it would not start until I jumped it then it started. The engine stopped running after a minute resulting in the amber engine icon, jumped it again with the same results. After resorting the Aux battery neg terminal and fuse 42, the engine would start (after a jump) and would not stall. The service engine icon is still on. Voltage is 14.5.

Would changing the main battery then do the Aux delete prevent stalling? Does a mechanic have to clear the service engine light or will it go out after replacing the battery? Did I isolate the correct terminal?

TIA

It looks like you did disconnect the correct Aux negative cable. Agree with @garyji it's probably your main battery. With it reading 14.5v while running I'd say your Jeep is trying like hell to charge the main battery and apparently not being successful.

Also, I'm going to need you to check in on this thread:

See I'm telling you man, Scotts and Johns tend to be very shy. That must be why the 85,000 of them that are on here haven't spoken up yet other than a handful. ?‍♂

Added the Odyssey -7 and did the Aux delete, works perfectly! Found it easier to remove the positive cable by detaching it at the T, then pulling the battery out to access the clip. Thanks for the assistance.

nice! I kept my aux connector taped up for about a year until I saw it had melted through. Then I just cut it off. When I replace my main I'll take the aux battery out.

What's your voltage reading now with the engine running?

14.2 down from 14.5 but the start was immediate and strong. When I purchased the new battery it tested at 60%. Don’t have time to drive it now, it’s on a charger Until this weekend.

With the new Odyssey, you'll be fine! Good job!
