About 2 months into owning a used 21 Rubicon Diesel. Noticed today that the ESS has not been working. After starting engine, showing "NOT READY - BATTERY CHARGING"...then after 15-20 min "NOT READY." From my research, I think my AUX battery is dying and killing my main battery as well. My main battery appears to be the original MOPAR battery.
Trying to determine if I should replace both batteries, or just delete the AUX. I dont particularly like the ESS system, and usually disable it with the switch if I don't forget. But there aren't many discussions on deleting the aux in the diesel.
Questions:
1. Are there any different considerations to deleting AUX battery with the 3.0L Ecodiesel than w 3.6L and 2.0L?
2. Any complications with rerouting the AUX positive wire with the AUX under main battery in diesel?
3. What else I am missing?
Thanks in advance for any info / suggestions.
