so, I'm trying to get some information together for a friend (so they all say).
he's already ordered the quake dual pod mount Quake dual pod mount
he thinks he'd like a set of flood pods and a set of spot, but not sure of the position of each on the bracket (he wanted the quake mount as most, like the dv8 & rigid allow for the up & down adjustment of the lights, but prevent any side to side adjustment)
from personal experience & with relation to the hood glare, which is the most reasonable position for the pods: flood on top or spot on top?

I’m just going through installation of Rough Country 2” cubes (spot) and R.C. Light Bar (combo flood and spot). I’ve tried my combo flood and spot light bar once in the driveway and didn’t notice any hood glare (although I was mesmerized by the amount of light and may have simply been distracted).

Here’s my setup:

sorry, I might have confused everything: even though the quake mount is capable of not only dual pods and a light bar, his intention is only to use the pods..one set of flood one set of spot: we're just wondering if the flood or spot should be positioned on top

Spot on top, light will be more focused so less chance of glare. Flood will be broad and light up the night..

put the spot on top and flood on the bottom. the spot will project farther, where the flood is more close up. just a heads up. both will create glare on the hood. so ideally adjust the flood to the side to reduce the glare. flood will do better up front on the bumper.
