Splicing into Horn wires

Anyone venture to guess , or better yet know the wire size going to the Horns on the JL. I need to Extend the wiring harness so I need to splice in the correct size wire. The OD of the wires is 2.0 mm. I'm thinking that is 18 gauge. I have some 16 gauge wire that has a larger diameter about 3mm . Just looking for either confirmation or damnation. thx

I looked on line and the only gray /yellow auto wire I could find is 20 gauge. Does that sound correct to anyone?

The only thing that really matters is to not extend it with smaller gauge wires. If you think it's 18ga and you extend it with 16ga, it's not a problem at all. Unnecessary, but no problem.
