Sound coming from Jeep

How's your oil level?

Anybody happen to know what’s causing this sound? It only happens when I’m backing up and turning the wheel. It’s been going on for a while. The dealership also hasn’t been able to figure it out since it doesn’t make the sound when they’re checking it.

Wait you don’t have diesel engine? I would be way more worried about the sound coming from your gasoline engine then I would be about some tire noise. You can barely hear. Your engine is literally about to grenade itself.

Odd indeed, .....if it were the engine you would expect it would not only do it in reverse while turning. if it were the engine it would be doing it when stopped and when going forward and when going just straight back or any combo of low load or high load situations..........if it were mine I would raise the hood and have someone drive it in reverse while turning and walk along side it looking in the engine bay...I would be careful tho not to get run over...heck just hop up on the bumper and watch and listen.....keep your hands out of moving parts tho......I remember when my buddy high centered on a tractor tire and smacked his exhaust cross over hard enough to cause an exhaust leak at the manifold/cat on his 3.6 JK and it sounded just like that but it was continuous.....how many miles on the jeep and is it possible a motor mount is bad and when in reverse turning causes some kind of stress....a head scratcher for sure.

Cracked flex plate is possible, seen that but it's been long time. Camshafts and rocker arms is also major concern with those noises, don't drive it anymore, get it to good Jeep shop for warranty repair.
