Preface: I redid every aspect of my audio from the UConnect 7” (custom built my JLR from factory to get all the extras removed since besides the 2” factory lift, high line fenders, bumpers and 8.4” was all being replaced within a month of purchase) now running the Stinger HEIGH10, the 3.5 dash was upgraded to Kicker K-Series, knee pods were replaced with Metra JP-1014 now running 6.5” Kicker Components (Q-Series), 2 amps under both seats… D-Class Kicker Q running my 12 Kicker CompQ and AB 4 channel Kicker Q running my 6.5 and Kick Q-Class 6x9 mounted with MB Quart adapters to fit the 6x9… Stinger Stealth and egg crate lining my knee pods, dash and sound bar completely.
The issue: my brother was helping cut the sound bar and cut the drivers side sound bar wiring! FML… passenger side still intact thankfully. The problem is the speakers (after rewire), sounded immaculate but it’s running off the secondary (3.5” side) harness while the 4” is running the passenger side 6x9. I have to tear it back down and considering running the new 6x9 off the wire that was cut, off the 4” speaker output. I have gone to Jeep and they said that I canT just buy the wiring harness, I’d have to purchase the entire enclosure which is ridiculous esp when it’s $1200. Because the 3.5 and 4” speakers run on different sound outputs (highs versus mids), I’ve beengetting lower sound levels and even interference off the drivers side speaker. So I may be forced to either purchase the DS18 Sound Bar wiring harness ($90) or just rewire the 4” output and make my own harness.
so the question is simple: does anyone who’s pulled apart their sound bar or played with the wiring, know where the connector is in the bar so I can just unhook and pop in the DS18 (sans LED lighting), get access to the wires at the base to make my own setup or, hopefully, know where I can source the harness itself in lieu of the DS18? I have a lot of electrical and as you all can see, know plenty about sound systems, but considering the space and darkness of the interior of the sound bar, can’t readily find the plug without removing the sound bar from the Jeep… sadly, I can’t remove the bar since my hardtop is in the way and it’s more than just removing the top to access it, I’d have to remove my cargo tray (steel) and other parts mounted on the lip of the hard top before I can remove it.
