Some questions about ordering

If one ordered a Wrangler 2 door right now, it would be a 2023 build correct?

What is the current approximate waiting period once one places such an order?

Is there anything which can cause that time frame to be longer (e.g., 2 door vs 4 door or different options)?

I am having an extremely difficult time finding what I am looking for, so think I will just end up ordering.

Yes what you order would be a 2023.

As for the rest - the answer isn’t definitive. Some orders take a month, some take many months. I have an order at 3 months right now they isn’t even scheduled yet, but I see others post whose orders get built in weeks.

There appeared to be a lag in 2 door builds as 2023 builds kicked off. That doesn’t mean it’ll be there going forward though. And yes, your options can slow things down, but it will depend what is available and what isn’t - which you won’t know - so order what you want. Just skip on things you can easily do later - like floor mats - to minimize chances of an issue

The build timeframe is sheer luck. Certain features can cause delays due to supply chain issues but what features are impacted is constantly shifting and impossible to predict. Ordering a stripped Jeep doesn't seem to help much either. Just order what you want and hope for the best.

I'm assuming an aftermarket front camera can be added if using the Tazer, since they sell one as an option. Not sure if it also allows use of an OEM cam, or if that is more involved..

Like said above, Total luck of the draw on ordering. My 22, 4dr. I took delivery 75 days later, while others were still waiting at twice that time. I would definitely order the Led lights from factory! Camera can always be done after, if need be.

I looked into this for my build and decided to include it in my order. It sounded like you can add it later, but the costs seemed substantially higher (2x). You also need to have the larger infotainment system for that to work. I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle and added price of doing it later, plus loss of warranty coverage on that and whatever parts Install touched that might cause jeep to refuse coverage

My fully loaded 2-Door took a bit over 7 weeks from order to dealer delivery. Anecdotal evidence I've seen in the Ordering section of this forum is that 2-Doors in general seem to take less time to build, but that's maybe because there's so few of them built. Also - get the factory to install the camera, less hassle.

It seems there's a lot of ups and downs with what arrives and when. I keep reading people getting a build in 6-8 weeks, meanwhile others are still waiting (like me). I ordered a 392 XR on 6/8 and dealer was able to give me the VIN but the Jeep VON tracker site still shows TBD on all fields. I work in a similar field and can attest that getting a lot of various parts is horrendously slow. I ordered a slew of bits the same week I ordered the Jeep for when it arrives..one of the items (rear Dana diff cover) just showed last week.. so four months just for a cover from Dana.. makes me question where they're at on axle supply..??

Definitely luck of the draw somewhat. I ordered 2 days after you and mine isn’t even scheduled yet. So, OP you might get lucky if you order and it might come quick, or you might be waiting months, and you won’t know which bucket you are in
